As part of the prestigious Berlin Festival of Lights 2024, Segal AV proudly presented Waves of Freedom, a poetic projection mapping journey on the historic façade of Charlottenburg Palace. The show invited viewers on a symbolic voyage celebrating the human spirit, the longing for freedom, and the beauty of cultural diversity.
The narrative unfolded in distinct visual chapters: starting with architectural outlines lighting up and evolving into a glowing cocoon that cracked open to reveal a butterfly. In a powerful transition from black and white to vibrant color, the butterfly soared as African masks emerged, followed by waves of freedom, blooming flowers, drifting dandelions, and ascending balloons of wishes—leading the audience into a cosmic sky and a final scene of the rising sun.
Every second of the show was meticulously crafted, blending 2D/3D animation, symbolic storytelling, and site-specific architectural mapping. The project aimed not only to impress visually, but also to touch hearts—turning the building into a canvas for emotional resonance and shared imagination.
Waves of Freedom was Segal AV’s second official participation in the Berlin Festival of Lights and was received with enthusiasm by thousands of spectators and international guests, reinforcing our commitment to artistic expression through immersive media.
